“L’Oceano Artico è unico. Ospita una moltitudine di forme di vita altamente adattate alla condizioni stagionali ed estreme di questo ambiente”. E’ anche la regione nella quale più evidente è l’impatto dei cambiamenti climatici. Allo stesso tempo, mentre la sua banchisa si riduce di anno in anno, l’Artico è messo a rischio da esplorazioni petrolifere che minacciano uno degli ecosistemi più delicati e fondamentali del pianeta. Noi di Greening USiena siamo studenti e non portiamo avanti azioni dirette presso l’Università degli Studi di Siena. Nonostante questo, crediamo che protestare non sia pirateria; perciò vogliamo unirci alle altre voci che nel mondo stanno chiedendo la liberazione degli attivisti di Greenpeace attualmente detenuti in Russia. #FreeTheArctic30
“The Arctic Ocean is unique. It holds a multitude of unique life forms highly adapted to the extreme and seasonal conditions of this environment”. It is also the region where climate change has the deepest impact. Yet, as sea ice keeps shrinking, the Arctic is at risk from oil explorations that threaten one of the most delicate and fundamental ecosystems on earth. We are students and don’t carry out direct actions at University of Siena, but nonetheless we believe that protesting is not piracy. This is why we would like to unite to other international voices calling for the release of Greenpeace activists currently detained in Russia. #FreeTheArctic30
